Experience
Employed at Conrad & Gargett Architects from 1978 to 1995. An associate from 1992. Worked on and managed a diverse range of project types including all sizes of commercial, residential, conservation and institutional projects.
Employed at Allom Lovell Architects from 1995 to 2004. Developed interest in conservation of heritage places to a high level of skill and knowledge. Specialised in recording, surveying, documentation and administration of conservation works. Gained extensive experience in liaison with owners, design architects, EPA (DERM, DEHP, DES) and other authorities, as well as preparation of reports and lodgement of heritage applications.
Commenced practice as Andrew Ladlay Architect in 2005, specialising in conservation work, providing all types of conservation advice, including conservation plans, impact reports, heritage management protocols, heritage assessments, condition assessments, specialist documentation and heritage approval and grant applications.
Rural Heritage Adviser to the Queensland Heritage Council from 2006 to 2010.
Presented papers on rural heritage issues at the 2010 ICOMOS Broken Hill conference, the 2012 Queensland Heritage Officers Gold Coast conference, and the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) 2018 Heritage Conference.
Registered as an Architect in Queensland since 1982, member of the Australian Institute of Architects (Member of the Institute's Queensland Heritage Committee).
Full International Member of ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites), member of the National Trust of Australia (and a member of the Trust's Queensland Advocacy Committee), and a member of the Historic Houses Association of Australia.
Member of the Queensland Heritage Council (representing the National Trust).
