In the $13M restoration and adaptation of Old Government House Brisbane, Andrew Ladlay's key role as heritage architect entailed close work with the design architects, the client, heritage authorities and the contractor, and included providing advice, preparation of specialist documentation and regular site inspections during construction.
This project received a Gold Queensland Heritage Award and the John Herbert Memorial Award for the most outstanding nomination in the 2009 National Trust Queensland Heritage Awards.
It also received the John Dalton Award for Building of the Year and the Don Roderick Award for Heritage at the Australian Institute of Architects 2010 Queensland Regional and State Awards.
Following completion of the project, QUT engaged Andrew Ladlay Architect to prepare an updated Conservation Plan, a Maintenance Manual, a Grounds Manual, and a Housekeeping Manual.
