Andrew Ladlay Architect
Andrew Ladlay is a Sunshine Coast
based heritage architect
who has been in private practice since 2005, working exclusively in the area of conservation of built heritage in Brisbane and throughout Queensland. His appointment in 2006 by the Queensland Heritage Council as rural heritage adviser reflects his vast experience and standing as a heritage professional. Andrew was the National Trust's representative on the Queensland Heritage Council from 2019 to 2024, and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and a full international member of ICOMOS (the International Council on Monuments and Sites). He has been a member of the National Trust since 1989, and has provided advice to the Trust on most of their Queensland properties since 2005.
• Winner of Gold Queensland Heritage Awards for excellence in heritage conservation in 2008 and 2019 (Treasury Casino stonework), 2009 (Old Government House), 2012 (City Botanic Gardens palisade fence), 2014 (Treasury Hotel - former Lands Office - stonework), and 2017 (BCC Bowen Park Rotunda).
• Winner of ten awards and high commendations for conservation plans in the Queensland Heritage Awards from 2010 to 2019.
• Queensland Heritage Awards Judge, 2018, 2019, 2026.
• Presented papers at the 2010 ICOMOS Broken Hill conference, the 2012 Queensland Heritage Officers Gold Coast conference, the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) 2018 Heritage Conference, and the 2019 ICOMOS Canberra conference.
